Galentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is taken many different ways. Some anxiously await the day with somewhat high expectations whereas others are not fully convinced of the idea that for one day every year you have to do something nice for your loved one, “Valentine’s Day is everyday” they say. Cute thought.

But enough about that, we need to talk about this new and very fun concept called « Galentine’s Day ». If you don’t already know about it, get ready to make it a yearly tradition.

What is« Galentine’s Day » you ask? It is meant to celebrate and honour friendships between women, independent women, because, to quote Beyoncé “Who runs the world?... GIRLS!” therefore we should have our own holiday.

Let’s clear up the misconception that this holiday is only reserved for ‘singles’ ladies…Not true. Although it’s a no-boys allowed event (sorry, not sorry), the date was purposely set on February 13, so even if you aren’t single, you don’t have to choose between your girlfriends and your partner (as you should never) best of both worlds!

Since it is a recent concept, there is not a traditional way to celebrate it. The main idea is to have your girls around, and have the most fun possible.

We came up with a few ideas to help you organize the whole thing.

You know you don’t want to cook so make your way to one of our brunch suggestions.

Find your spot on the couch and get comfy with some pop corn and wonderful beverage and get ready to enjoy one of these.
